2012-07-09

Bakken Blend crude differentials improved from -$12/bbl to -$9.25/bbl on July 5, in line with analysts' predictions that differentials would improve following a drop in differentials that many analysts deemed as "too low." In addition to Bakken, Canadian Syncrude differential improved from -$5.50/bbl to -$2.75/bbl. The Mixed Sweet differential increased by $3.50/bbl to -$10/bbl. Western Canadian Select (WCS) differentials jumped by $2/bbl to -16$bbl, while the WCS ex-Cushing differential also improved by $2/bbl to -$16/bbl.
